Ahead of the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Suleiman Abba, has ordered his men to ensure water-tight security in key locations across the country.

The police boss gave the directive on Thursday in a statement issued in Abuja by the Force spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu.

This is to ensure a smooth election in the country on March 28 and April 11, 2015, when the polls are scheduled to hold nationwide for the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

“This becomes imperative in a bid to ward off any likely or possible attempt by hoodlums or men of under-world to attack these installations and public places,” the statement by the police spokesman explained.
