Reports reaching Aproko247 indicate that the lingering crises rocking the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has now taken another dimension as the party has been factionalized by some of its top members.
At a press conference held in Abuja on Saturday, a new faction of the party was announced and its new leaders unveiled to newsmen. The former acting National Chairman of the PDP, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, was announced as the new PDP factional Chairman, while former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola was revealed as the National Secretary.
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; and seven PDP governors comprising Adamawa, Jigawa, Kano, Kwara, Niger, Rivers and Sokoto States are part of the new PDP faction.
Atiku, Baraje, Oyinlola and the seven governors were all at the briefing on Saturday.
