Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has declared that the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, is now dead in the state following its merger with other political parties to form the All Progressive Congress, APC, some weeks ago.
Okorocha made this known in Owerri, the state capital, while making a formal presentation of all former officials of APGA in the local councils and wards in Imo State to the National Zonal Vice Chairman of APC, Dr Nyerere Anyim. The occasion took place at the Ahiajoku conference Centre, Owerri.
Okorocha stated that since his party was part of the parties that changed to APC, it was necessary to formally convert APGA in Imo State to APC.
The governor added that APGA has no national outlook and enjoined the people of the state to embrace APC as it will guarantee the needed change being agitated for by many.
He however said that a 21-man committee has been established to make sure that the interest of all the merger parties in the state are well represented.
