Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has urged operators of the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, buses in the state to show more sensitivity to the feelings of commuters. The governor recently made this plea during a meeting with the management and staff of the state’s Mass Transit Bus Systems at the LASTMA yard in Oshodi.
Fashola revealed that he was not impressed with the feedbacks he got from the general public about the operators of the BRT and Lagbuses.
He advised them to be more dedicated to the work and take a business-like approach to the system adding that they need to have a deeper sense of ownership to make the system work successfully.
Fashola listed some of the complains as reckless driving, rough dressing and rudeness to the commuters among others.
Many users of the BRT buses have severally complained about the way operators treat them badly. Some of the buses have gone bad and are now being compared to ‘molues’, usually in rickety conditions.
