The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has since its inception been introducing ideas and innovations that would make motorists in Nigeria get the best from the government and the agency as well. The menace of being arrested by officials of the Corps for having fake number plates has caused many sleepless nights for some motorists in the country.
In its resolve to serve the populace better and efficiently, the FRSC has provided succour to motorists as they now have means to verify the authenticity of their number plates.
The FRSC recently introduced two systems for vehicle users in Nigeria to check the nature of their number plates. Motorists can now either confirm the authenticity of their number plates online or via SMS.
Vehicle users can log on to www.nvisng.org and click on the “Verify Number Plate” section located at the top right hand corner of the website’s homepage and input/supply their number plates in the space provided and then click on the “Verify” button.
Using the SMS system, a motorist would send the number plate in the following format; ”verifyplateno the number plate” to 33810. For example “verifyplateno ABC123AA” to 33810.
Note:
There is no space between “verifyplateno”
There is space between verifyplateno and the registration number
There is no space between the number “ABC123AA”.
