PDP Orders Taraba Dep Gov To Take Instructions From Ailing Gov

The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has ordered the deputy governor of Taraba State, Garba Umar, to henceforth take instructions from the ailing governor of the state, Danbaba Suntai. This decision was reached on Tuesday afternoon after the committee headed by Senator Hope Uzodinma, met with the governor and his deputy in Jalingo.

Uzodinma was mandated by the party to mediate in the crisis rocking the state, following the return of the governor from his hospital in America some days ago.

Addressing newsmen in Jalingo this afternoon, Uzodinma stated that Umar would continue as the acting governor of Taraba State but based on the instructions he receives directly from Suntai.

The governor had been on the sick bed since October 2012 after he was involved in an air crash. He was first rushed to Germany, but was later referred to the USA for further treatments.
