The annual and prestigious Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards, NBMA, recently got a boost from Nigeria’s leading digital pay-channels provider, Startimes Nigeria Ltd, when the company supported the event with free decoders.
The organisers of the awards ceremony, led by its executive producer, Kazeem Popoola, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos office of Startimes to felicitate with them on their third year anniversary.
They were received by the company’s General Manager, Eric Liu, who expressed his profound gratitude for the visit, and also used the opportunity to commend the NBMA initiative. Liu stated that the upwardly mobile Pay Digital TV channel provider will continue to support laudable projects like the NBMA.
Liu also emphasized the need to celebrate and encourage the neglected sector, and urged other media houses to support the cause of the industry. He described NBMA as “the ‘watch dog of the Nigerian broadcasting industry”.
Startimes, through its Public Relation Manager, Anetor Irete, presented five Startimes Decoders, plus free subscriptions, to the visiting executive members of NBMA.
NMBA is organised by The Reality Entertainment.
Startimes was the 2012 winner of NBMA’s Best Pay Digital TV channel provider in Nigeria.
The company is unarguably the first digital pay-channels provider in the country. In a short time, Startimes has earned recognition from all quarters, following its regional expansion into the Nigerian digital TV industry, through the provision of unique TV channels and content.
