A councillorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Afolabi Olawole, at last Saturday’s re-run election in Offa, Kwara State, has rejected his victory at the poll as announced by the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, KWASIEC.
Speaking on Wednesday in the state, Olawole noted that he was rejecting the result based on his religious teaching which forbids cheating. He claimed that the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate at the poll, Adefioye Kayode, won the election
Olawole had contested in the Shawo South West ward in Offa Local Government of Kwara State.
The politician declared that he was not influenced by anybody and that his decision to tow the path of honour was to ensure that his community did not witness violence and retrogression.
