PDP Crisis: Forget 2015, Beg OBJ–Fani-Kayode Advises GEJ

Former spokesman to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Femi Fani-Kayode, has advised President Goodluck Jonathan to forget about his speculated 2015 presidential ambition in order to allow peace return to the troubled Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.

Fani-Kayode also asked Jonathan to listen to his piece of advice, swallow his pride and beg Obasanjo help him solve the crisis in the ruling party. The former Aviation Minister stated that doing so is the only hope for the party to hold on to power.

“The only hope left for the PDP is if President Goodluck Jonathan listens to President Olusegun Obasanjo and those behind him and drops his 2015 ambition. Failing, the fight in the PDP will never end,” Fani-Kayode said in a statement on Saturday.

He also noted that, “Obasanjo is one of the greatest political strategists that Nigeria has ever known,” warning that, “he (Obasanjo) is an extremely dangerous adversary.”

He added that, “I know him well and his ways are deep. Ori Baba le ga ni. Go and find out what happened to all those that betrayed him or tried to kill him. Their end is never good.”

He also said that Jonathan needs the help of Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida and Atiku Abubakar, to call the aggrieved members of the PDP to order. He pointed out that, “without that, President Goodluck Jonathan is finished and he should just wave goodbye to his 2015 re-election ambitions.

Fani-Kayode alerted that if the crisis in the PDP is not urgently solved, “the APC, with the support of the PDP dissidents, will form the next Federal Government of Nigeria. That is the way to go. PDP as we once knew her, has gone forever.”
