Reputable pharmaceutical company- Fidson plc is battling a growing case of fraud.
And sources claim accusing fingers are pointing at an influential figure in the company as the brain behind the development.
The accused is fingered by those that have been implicated and sacked over the scam and some that have resigned in protest.
He is identified as Mr Alli Balogun, a top level General Manager in the company.
Sources claim that the fraud centres around diversion of products and proceeds.
Fidson engages in manufacture and distribution of pharmaceutical products in Nigeria amongst other things.
Mr Balogun was formerly National Sales manager at the establishment.
Sources claim over 25 workers of the company have lost their job over the growing scam within the last two months.
Fifteen staffers reportedly resigned in protest in July 2012.
Among them was ex Regional Sales Manager, David Otokpa – against the backdrop of his claims that he payed company’s proceed into Mr Balogun’s personal bank account on the latter’s instruction.
He reportedly provided documents to prove his case- but Balogun survived the storm, like he did others.
Findings revealed even with the sack of those implicated in the fraud and resignation of others in protest- the company is still experiencing the growing fraud.
Findings revealed that Mr Balogun, the man accused as behind their plight by those that lost their jobs still keep his position because of ‘the special relationship’ he enjoys with the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Fidelis Ayebae.
Mr Balogun is said to have leverage on this relationship to perfect a ‘wondrous’ relationship with other stakeholder in the scheme of management.
His rapport with Mr Ayebae is said to be such that ‘he never does wrong with him’ a source said.
The General Manager is said to limitless utilise informal and inter personal relationship to perfect his deeds.
With the company still battling fraud- insiders claim affected workers have vowed to expose the accused for who he is.
And currently compiling materials to this effect.
Fidson Spoke Mr Sylvester denied the story of fraud.
In his words ‘there is no fraud. The people that left just did so on their own. Fidson is a plc, it is one of the most regulated company- there is no way fraud can be done’
