Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, has debunked media reports that President Goodluck Jonathan recently travelled to Kenya with seven jets.
There have been reports in some sections of the media that Jonathan went to Kenya with seven jets. The report emanated from a video showing Kenyans mocking Nigerians because the country’s President stormed their country with the small planes.
Reacting to the reports, Abati challenged anyone to prove the story to be true. He stressed that Jonathan only travelled with one jet and not seven as being widely speculated.
“Tales about President Jonathan travelling to Kenya with seven jets not true. I challenge the Kenyan lady to prove her allegation. President Jonathan was in Kenya with only one aircraft,” Abati said.
He added that, “a Presidential jet is not difficult to identify. It bears a clear mark. You should know that. That Kenyan lady is lying. It amounts to sheer laziness to take one crazy tale and broadcast it without verification. Shame.”
