Aproko247 can authoritatively report that a notorious oil pipeline vandal that operates in Lagos and Ogun States, Dayo Okiki, has been arrested by officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC. Okiki was apprehended on Saturday morning in Lagos, following an intelligent information gathered by the Civil Defence.
The security agency got information of an intended act of vandalisation of oil pipelines and oil theft to be carried out by Okiki and quickly swung into action and made the arrest.
NSCDC combed Isala creek, Mojoda and Igbonla areas, which led to the arrest of the suspect this morning. It was reliably gathered that the suspect recently acquired a Lexus Jeep, two Bedfords vehicles and two cover body trucks, capable of holding about 800 kegs at a time.
Members of the public have therefore been urged to give useful information that can lead to the arrest of other members of Okiki’s gang in order to prosecute them without delay.
Meanwhile, the suspect is currently in the custody of NSCDC. The agency has been in the fore-front of reducing pipeline vandalisation in the country, which has yielded considerable results.
