A Chinese filmmaker, Zhang Yimou, has been fined by the Chinese authorities for having more than one child. China, world’s most populous nation, is against having more than one child in a family.
Yimou, best known for directing the movie, ‘The House of Flying Daggers’, was handed a fine of $1.2 million by his country’s authorities.
The filmmaker recently had two more children and was asked to pay the fine within 30 days. The fine was reportedly calculated using the couple’s combined income in the years the children were born.
Yimou has however accepted the fine slammed on him. He maintained that he loves his kids and would do anything to protect them.
