The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, has reiterated its commitment to continue to educate Nigerians on their fundamental rights. The Commission further stated that knowing these rights will protect Nigerians.
According to the Executive Secretary of NHRC, Professor Bem Angwe, the Commission will continue to work in support with other agencies in achieving this aim.
Prof Angwe disclosed this when he led the Commission to the office of the Director General of National Orientation Agency, NOA, in Abuja. The NRHC boss disclosed that the reason for the courtesy call was to partner with the NOA towards securing the cooperation of all organs of government in ensuring that people’s rights are respected and protected.
In his response, the DG of NOA, Mike Omeri, promised the support of his Agency in ensuring the rights of Nigerians are well protected. He also pledged to seek ways of establishing a people’s court to encourage community dialogue.
