Francis Agoda, better known as I Go Dye, has been appointed as a United Nations Ambassador. The ace comedian was named by the UN as an ambassador for its Millennium Development Goals, MDGs.
The honour is in recognition for I Go Dye’s selfless services, creativity and compassion towards human development. He also got the honour through his commitments to philanthropic gestures. He will have to see to the realization of the UN’s MDGs.
Speaking on the award, the comedian said, “I feel honoured by this, but it will be more gratifying to me when I see our leaders creating more opportunities for the youths by gainfully employing them. This is because as at today, millions of Africans are suffering and faced with uncertainties. The future seems vague and no hope in sight.
“Until this personal desire of a better Africa is achieved; my heart knows no profound happiness; because someone is still sleeping without a meal.”
Speaking further, I Go Dye said, “with this recognition, it shows that my work is not in vein. I thank God for giving me this talent, which is inspiring others. I also thank my fans all over the world for the support and prayers. Without you, all these achievements wouldn’t have been possible. May God bless you all.”
