An alleged admission scammer, Obinna Okoro, has been arrested by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The suspect was nabbed in Owerri, Imo State by the anti-graft body for allegedly obtaining money from his victim under false pretence.
He was accused of duping one Dr Essien Edet of € 5,000, 00 under the guise that he could help his daughter secure admission to study Medicine in Ukraine. The incident reportedly happened two years ago and Obinna could not deliver his promise.
Since then, all attempts to get the accused to refund the money were unsuccessful.
According to the EFCC, Obinna would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.
