The governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has been appointed as the new National Leader and Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. Obi’s appointment was approved by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.
The governor replaces the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who formed the party some years ago.
The decision was reached on Saturday in Akwa, Anambra State during the National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the party.
Twenty four others were appointed into the membership of the party’s BoT, which now has Obi as Chairman.
A vote of confidence was also passed on the leadership of APGA led by the embattled factional chairman, Victor Umeh, who presided over the meeting.
