Ex-Gov Mu'azu Replaces Tukur As PDP Chair

The former governor of Bauchi State, Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, has been appointed as the new National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP. Mu’azu replaces the ousted Bamanga Tukur, who was forced to resign last week.

Mu’azu’s emergence was adopted on Sunday night at a meeting attended by President Goodluck Jonathan; his vice, Namadi Sambo; PDP’s BoT Chairman, Tony Anenih; Senate President, David Mark; and all PDP governors.
The meeting, which lasted three hours, began at about 10pm at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He defeated 15 other candidates who entered the race to becoming the new PDP National Chairman among were the Minister of Transport, Idris Umar; and a former House of Reps member, Mohammed Wakil.

Mu’azu will be officially unveiled on Monday in Abuja.
