Tukur Becomes NRC Boss

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Bamanga Tukur as the Chairman of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC. The former National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, was appointed on Tuesday by the President.

Tukur was forced to resign as the PDP boss last week after the party suffered from series of crisis, which disintegrated and torn ‘its umbrella’ shield.

Under Tukur as National Chairman of the PDP, five governors of the ruling party decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC, an opposition party. Thirty seven members of the Houses of Representatives elected under the platform of the PDP also joined the APC.

Last week, when President Jonathan confirmed the resignation of Tukur, he disclosed that he would give Tukur a better government appointment.
