The former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, has officially dumped the All Progressive Congress, APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The former APC chieftain officially announced his defection in Sokoto on Sunday afternoon.
According to his media aide, Yusuf Dingyadi, the former governor took the step based on the “collective and unanimous decision” by his supporters in the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State.
Dingyadi stated further that Bafarawa and his political associates left the party because they feel they can no longer get justice and a sense of belonging in the APC.
There has been a tussle between Bafarawa and the incumbent governor, Aliyu Wamakko, over who controls the APC in the state.
