Afro-beat legend, Femi Kuti, has again lost out at the 56th Grammy Awards held on Sunday January 26, 2014. This is the fourth time the son of the late ‘Abami Eda, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, would be failing to clinch the prestigious award.
Femi lost the award to a tie between winners Gipsy Kings and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
His ‘No Place For My Dream’ was nominated in the Best World Music Album category at the 2014 Grammys.
The singer sent his sister, Yeni, to the event, which took place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
In 2003, Femi got his first Grammys nomination. He was also nominated in 2010 and 2012. No Nigerian has yet won the award.
