Former Nigeria’s Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has categorically declared that the days of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, as the ruling party in Nigeria, are now numbered.
The former number two citizen of the country under the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo stated this in an interview with Liberty Radio.
He also disclosed that the emergence of Adamu Mu’azu as the new National Chairman of the PDP is not end of the party’s woes.
Atiku added that he’s on the same page with his former boss, Obasanjo, who recently attacked President Goodluck Jonathan in an open letter concerning the latter’s failures in managing the affairs of Nigeria.
“I don’t think the end of PDP’s trouble is over with Bamanga Tukur’s ousted. I don’t think so; the troubles of the PDP are yet to come. I don’t think Bamanga is the trouble, I don’t think Bamanga is the issue,” Atiku observed.
Atiku further explained that, “the striking thing I want you to reflect upon is, read my convention address, read President Obasanjo’s letter. In fact, there are very striking similarities, the only thing is that I foresaw what is happening before him, that is just the difference but basically my convention speech and the letter Obasanjo wrote to President Jonathan have very striking similarity.”
Speaking on the emergence of Alhaji Muazu, who is his in-law, he said, “before he picked up the job, he came to me and told me that he wanted the job and I told him that if he picked the job, he cannot change anything.”
“When he was asked whether the PDP that has vowed to rule for 60 years now have their days numbered, Atiku answered saying “definitely.”
PDP Days Are Numbered–Atiku Declares http://t.co/rnOqZHEYDJ
PDP as a party is bedevilled with so many problem the appointment of Adamu Muazu as the new PDP chairman is like killing a snake without cutting the head. the real cause of the problem if not address the party can hardly see the light of the day with the emergence of the APC as a formidable opposition to the PDP which was enjoying a weaker opposition before. Well said Atiku.
