Manchester City continued their fine form on Wednesday night as they defeated Tottenham at home by 5-1 in a Barclays Premium League match.
The win also shot City to the top of the League table ahead of Arsenal, after playing a 2-2 draw against Southampton on Tuesday night.
Spurs were reduced to 10 men when Danny Rose was controversially sent off for bringing down Edin Dzeko in box. Replays showed that Danny got the ball first.
In another match, Chelsea began their first game without Juan Mata with a frustrating draw. The Blues were held to a barren draw on Wednesday night.
Chelsea and Man City meet next week Monday at the Etihad Stadium. As it stands, even if Jose Mourinho’s side beat Manuel Pellegrini’s City, they won’t top the table.
