Former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, on Wednesday, explained why he left the All Progressives Congress, APC, to join the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.
According to Shekarau, he made the political switch on January 29, 2014 due to ‘injustice’ at the APC.
The founding member of the APC, after a meeting of stakeholders of the now-defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, in the state, held at his Kano residence, said, “we have realised that there won’t be justice and fairness in APC and as such I’m suggesting that we should collectively move to PDP.”
Shekarau’s defection came just as 11 PDP Senators at the National Assembly dumped the party for the APC on Wednesday.
