Residents of Lagos seem to have snubbed the All Progressives Congress, APC, registration of members which kicked off this week. Since the exercise started, it has recorded low turnouts of prospecting members of the party. The APC was formed some months ago from the merger of three main opposition parties; the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, and the All Nigeria Peoples’ Party, ANPP.
Most places visited by our reporter witnessed low turnouts as most Lagosians failed to show up to the centres to register as members of the ruling party in the state, and opposition at the federal level.
APC started the registration process on Wednesday.
At the various centres visited by Aproko247 in Ogba area of the state, only officials of the party, registering people, were seen with no one coming to them to register. At Kayode and Thomas Salako, all around Ogba bus stop, the situations were not different.
Aguda, College road, Ajayi road and Oke Ira areas of Ogba, were also not different.
When our reporter visited some places in Ojodu Berger, Omole, Ikeja, Maryland and few others, the turnouts were not impressive as well.
