Ex-militant leader, Mujarhedeen Asari-Dokubo has given his conditions for peace ahead of the 2015 general elections in Nigeria.

The vocal Niger Delta activist vowed that he would never be intimidated by arrests and detentions by the security agencies.

He further stated that he would continue to return fire-for-fire to the opposition leaders in the country, if they continue to clamour for President Goodluck Jonathan’s removal from Aso Rock in 2015. He added that anyone asking Jonathan to drop his ‘legitimate clamour’ for the re-election should be ready for a showdown.

“If it is war the North wants, we are ready for them because Jonathan must complete the mandatory constitutionally allowable two terms of eight years,” Asari-Dokubo fumed.

He advised the All Progressives Congress, APC, to pick its presidential flag-bearer from the South/South zone of the country, noting that anything short of that would be unacceptable.

“At home, we have regrouped and we have put our people on the alert. In less than one hour, the way we would strike, the world will be shocked. For me as a person, nobody can take my right to talk from me. But I have assured the SSS that if the other side (opposition) maintains decorum, we too will maintain decorum. If they don’t, we too will not. We must all be treated equally.

“Buhari is not greater than Asari-Dokubo and certainly El-Rufai is not in any way greater than Asari-Dokubo. We must be treated equally before the law. Buhari, El-Rufai and their co-travellers must be called to order by the authorities and they must maintain decorum,” gave as his condition for peace.

Last week Thursday, Asari-Dokubo was at the SSS office for six hours for grilling over his inflammatory remarks on the 2015 presidential election.
