Okorocha Suspends 'Aggressive' Female Commissioner

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has suspended one of his commissioners with immediate effect.

The affected member of his cabinet, Mrs Nma Onyechere, is the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in the state.

Mrs Onyechere was accused of assaulting a serving Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission, Chief Emeka Okoronkwo.

The governor, this magazine learnt, felt bad that a top public office holder like Mrs Onyechere could descend so low to hit another public officer, thereby denting the image of his administration.

He directed the Commissioner to immediately go on suspension to work on her temper. Okorocha also ordered her to immediately hand over all government properties in her possession to the Permanent Secretary in her Ministry.
