Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, on Saturday reiterated the need for peace and unity in Nigeria, which he said are the major ingredients for a better nation. The respected monarch urged Nigerians to put all hands on deck to move the country to a better place.
He disclosed this during a courtesy visit to his palace by President Goodluck Jonathan in Kano on Saturday.
He pledged that the traditional institution will continue to preach stability and peaceful co-existence to their subjects, stating that Nigeria must remain an indivisible country.
The Emir expressed gratitude to the President for his support during his ill-health.
In his remarks, the President disclosed that he was in Kano to pay homage to the traditional ruler and to thank the emirate for the efforts at keeping Kano State peaceful.
Jonathan said his administration will continue to ensure peace in the state, adding that he will always welcome wise counsels from the traditional institutions.
