Retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Chukwudifu Akunne Oputa, has suffered stroke, Aproko247 can report.
The legal luminary, who is the father to popular musician and former President of PMAN, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, was hit by stroke on Saturday night at his Oguta home in Imo State.
The 96-year-old ‘Socrates of the Nigerian Supreme Court’ has now been hospitalised following the ailment.
Justice Oputa was well know to Nigerians when former President Olusegun Obasanjo. appointed him in 1999 to investigate the abuses carried out by the army during the 15 years reign of the military in Nigeria. The investigation panel was dubbed ‘the Oputa panel’.
