Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Sunday, February 16, 2014, worshipped at a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Lagos with the General Overseer of the church, Pastor EA Adeboye.
The President noted that his visit to the Olive Tree Parish of the RCCG, Ikoyi, was not politically motivated as some may have thought.
Jonathan informed the congregation that prayers of various religious worshippers have kept the nation in peace despite the numerous challenges before the country.
He urged them to keep praying for the peace of the country, stating that he believes Nigeria will come out strong at the end of the day.
Also speaking at the service, Pastor Adeboye assured Jonathan that the church will continue to pray for Nigeria. “Whether the Devil likes it or not, Nigeria will be great, Nigeria will be saved,” Adeboye said.
Present at the church service on Sunday were Lagos First Lady, Abimbola Fashola; the state deputy governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; wife of the GO, Foluke Adeboye and other dignitaries. The nation’s First Lady, Patience Jonathan was absent.
