The Kogi State government has said that it would soon sack about 520 teachers in its workforce. Chairman of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Uman Jibrin, made this disclosure while defending the 2014 budget at the State House of Assembly complex in Lokoja, the state capital.
Jibrin noted that the affected teachers are those caught with fake certificates in the ongoing certificate verification exercise across the state.
The SUBEB boss stressed that the affected teachers with the fake certificates will be disengaged by the state government after the completion of the verification exercise. He reiterated the government’s effort in providing quality basic education to children in the state by qualified teachers.
