Students of the Lagos State University, LASU, will return to classes from Monday, February 24, 2014, a memo by its Senate has said. The Senate of the institution met on Friday last week to deliberate on the issue.
The school was shut by its management on Thursday, January 23, 2014 after some students staged a violent protest over closure of the school’s registration portal by the institution’s authorities.
In a memo dated February 14, the Senate of the school decided to reopen the university on February 24 to allow students complete their examinations.
Information gathered by Aproko247 has it that the students will resume in batches with the 400 level students resuming first to enable them meet up with the June mobilisation for the National Youth Service Corps Batch B scheme.
The school has decided to reopen its registration portal between 24 and 25 of February, 2014, while exams commences on March 3, 2014, to end on March 10, 2014.
Thereafter, the new students will resume on March 10, 2014 and start registration immediately, while 100 Level to 300 level students would resume on April 1st, 2014, and start their exams on April 10, 2014.
