The House of Representatives has expressed its desire for former Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, to be prosecuted for her role in the controversial purchase of two bulletproof BMW cars by an agency under the aviation ministry.
Speaking on Thursday on the issue, the House Committee Chairman on Media and Public Affairs, Zakari Mohammed, disclosed that since Oduah was involved in the mess, she should be prosecuted by the concerned anti-graft bodies involved in prosecuting corrupt public officials.
“Our primary responsibility as a House is to expose corruption. For us, we have done our job, and I think we are on the same page on this matter with the President; we are within the confines of the law and have been fair to both parties,” Mohammed said.
He added that, “part of our legislative agenda is to look at areas of leakages of government especially areas of wastages and we have done our jobs.”
You will recall that Oduah was dropped some days ago as Minister by the President after pressures from Nigerians for him to do so. Oduah was accused to have forced the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, to illegally purchase the two cars for her.
