Nigerian vocalist, Timi Dakolo, has stated that he does not know where the news story claiming that he bought a duplex for his wife as a Valentine gift came from.
The singer was speaking on Sunday as a guest on Channels Television’s programme, Rubbin’ Minds.
Although Timi confirmed that he dedicated a song entitled ‘Iyawo Mi’ to his wife, which was released on Valentine’s Day, he expressed shock over the house gift issue.
“Seriously, I don’t know where that came from,” the 33-year-old singer shrugged.
“It (‘Iyawo Mi’) is a song I wrote for my wife actually. It is my gift to her. Like, okay, forever I will love you. It is me pouring out my heart to say when there is nothing more to give I will give you some more,” Timi said on the show.
Timi shot into limelight when he won the first and only season of Idols West Africa on May 26, 2007.
