Barely 24 hours after the presidency claimed its war against terrorism in Nigeria was being won, gunmen suspected to be members of the outlawed Boko Haram group, have again attacked Bama village in Borno State.
Bama is a community near the state capital, Maiduguri. In December 2013, terrorists attacked a military barracks in Bama.
The recent attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday and several people were killed by the insurgents.
Aproko247 learnt that the gunmen invaded Bama at about 3:40am while the residents were still fast asleep.
Meanwhile, the army spokesman, Brig-Gen Chris Olukolade, has disclosed that normalcy has returned to Bama.
