Ejigbo 3: Police Parades Baba Oloja, 9 Others

Ten suspects have been apprehended by the police in connection with the torture, murder and sodomy of three females accused of stealing pepper in a market in Ejigbo area of Lagos State. They were paraded before newsmen on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, in Lagos.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba disclosed that four suspects are still at large.

Mba noted that the 10 paraded suspects were identified by witnesses. The police also stated that the accused persons would be charged to court soon.

One of the paraded suspects was the Baba Oloja of Ejigbo, who denied being part of the incident. However, one of the witnesses, who spoke during the press briefing on Tuesday, rubbished his claim, maintaining that the Baba Oloja was actively involved in the torture.

Also speaking at the event, human rights activist, Joe Odumakin, urged the general public to provide useful information to the police to enable the police arrest the remaining suspects.
