Following the incessant attacks by members of Boko Haram terrorist group, France, the United Kingdom and the European Union habe all pledged to assist Nigeria in putting an end to their activities in the north eastern part of the country.
The French President, Francois Hollande, on Thursday, promised that his country would do everything possible to join hand with Nigeria to fight the insurgents, who have carried out deadly attacks in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno States recently.
Hollande said, “your struggle is also our struggle. We will always stand ready not only to provide our political support but our help every time you need it because the struggle against terrorism is also the struggle for democracy.”
The EU also promised to assist the Nigeria Police with about 15 million Euros. This would enable the Force to train its personnel with the aim of fighting terrorism in Nigeria.
