Nigeria’s Senate President, David Mark, has disclosed that his region, the North Central zone of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, will throw its full weight behind President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria.
Mark made this pledge on Saturday during the ‘Unity Rally’ of the zone’s party held in Minna, Niger State. The Senate President described Jonathan as a leader who has sacrificed himself to the service of the people and the nation.
“We in the North Central zone of the PDP, when we say yes, it will remain yes, come rain, come sunshine. I can vouch for my people. When we say yes; it is yes. We are here today to assure Mr President that we are solidly behind him.”
Mark further described the President as a leader who has brought good luck to the country and has led the people by example.”
“We will go with the leader who has brought us good luck. The leader who has brought good luck to Nigerians; the leader who has made a lot of sacrifice to lead this country by example,” said the Senate President.
He also said that the PDP has done its best to make sure Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy and urged them to disregard allegations of non-performance by the All Progressives Congress, APC, against the PDP, saying they are all lies and cheap blackmails.
