Reports reaching Aproko247 indicates that no fewer than 12 persons have been feared dead in a stampede that occurred at the National Stadium in Abuja on Saturday morning.
The deceased and several others had gone to the stadium to write an aptitude test organised by the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, for those seeking employment into the government organisation.
In our earlier report, we stated that several youths, in their thousands, thronged the National Stadium in Abuja and were making efforts to gain entry into the stadium through the fence. Those who sensed a possible stampede had quickly headed home.
As at the time of filing this report, no official of NIS was able to speak with this magazine on the matter.
