National Confab: 2000 NSCDC Personnel Provide Security

No fewer than 2000 officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have been deployed to venue of the ongoing National Conference holding in Abuja. The conference was declared opened by President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday and the venue and its environs was also declared as a no-go-area for criminal, hoodlums or any person or group of persons with sinister motive to truncate the good intention of government.

This disclosure was made by the Commandant General, Dr Ade Abolurin while approving the deployment of the secutity personnel to provide security for delegates of the conference.

He enjoins the personnel who were drawn from the Counter-Terrorism Unit, The Armed Squad, Special Force, Special Weapon and Tactics Units (SWAT), Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Weapon Unit and the Anti-Vandal Unit of the Corps to remain committed to National Security even in the face of daunting security challenges.

The Commandant General has also ordered the immediate deployment of 100 Sniffer Dogs to ward off notorious elements and to help detect any dangerous weapons or IEDs that may be orchestrated by enemies of the Nation.

According to the Corps top Boss, the Corps will leave no stone unturned in ensuring security of lives, property and Critical Infrastructure and National Assets of Government as attention will be focused on the FCT due to the influx of delegates from different parts of the country for the Conference.

While eulogizing the President and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces for his commitment to National Unity and indivisibility of Nigeria by forging ahead with the Conference, he assures delegates and various participants of their safety, reiterating that it will be a successful deliberation and there is no cause for alarm.
