Members of the dreaded Islamic group called Boko Haram have murdered not less than 17 persons in an attack in Borno, AFP reports.
The latest blast occurred on Thursday at a market in Nguro-Soye, Borno State. A local police chief, Lawan Tanko, told the agency on Sunday that the blast affected telecom towers, which caused the shutting down of communications in the area.
It was further gathered that the terrorists used explosives during the invasion, dispersing villagers, who ran to safety.
“An explosion in the market in Nguro-Soye killed 17 people. The attack on Nguro-Soye, as in previous attacks, is the handiwork of Boko Haram insurgents.” Tanko was quoted by AFP.
