NCC Nabs 8 Pirates In Enugu

Eight persons allegedly involved in the act of piracy were apprehended over the weekend in Enugu with contrivances worth more than N30 million. The suspects were caught with Q-Sats decoders, A-Z skys and some ‘dongles’, which are used to illegally broadcast pay stations on the DSTV platform.

The eight alleged pirates were arrested at the Ogbete market and in Enugu metropolis by officials of the Nigerian Copyrights Commission, NCC, Enugu zone.

Speaking with newsmen, the Enugu Zonal Director of the NCC, Mrs Ngozi Okeke, said the arrest was made possible due to the several complaints from Multi Choice Nigeria. She reiterated the Commission’s resolve to fight piracy in the country, warning those involved in the act to desist from the illegality.
