No fewer than 45 drug suspects have been apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Gombe State. The alleged criminals were arrested by the agency between January and March 2014.
The Gombe State Commander of the NDLEA, Aliyu Adole, disclosed last Friday that his men also seized 20kg of cannabis from the suspects as well as two kilogrammes of psychotropic substances.
Adole warned drug suspects in the state to desist from the act or be ready to contend with the anti-drug body, vowing to intensify NDLEA’s fight against illegal drug dealers in the society.
The NDLEA boss also explained that, “within the three months, we have arrested 45 male suspects unlike last year when we arrested 31 male and two female suspects from October to December.”
