The local council election held in Kano State on Saturday witnessed some cases of violence. It was gathered by Aproko247 that some hoodlums attacked polling units in the state, disrupting election processes in the affected areas.
Ballot boxes were reportedly snatched by the thugs, Aproko247 learnt from some observers of the polls. It was also said that ballot boxes in Kura polling units were taken by the hoodlums, who stormed the area with dangerous weapons.
In other polling booths, election materials were reportedly damaged by the suspected political thugs, which led to halts in the affected places.
In some of the places where cases of violence were recorded, voters resisted the hoodlums from going away with the ballot boxes.
From what this magazine gathered, election materials were not supplied to some polling centres in time, which infuriated some of the voters, and led to some of the cases of unrest.
