Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members attacked Gamboru community in Borno State for the second time in three weeks. In early May, some terrorists invaded the village, leaving over 250 dead in the attack. Several houses were razed by the insurgents without the military stopping them despite holding the village under siege for many hours.
The latest attack, which occurred on Thursday, saw over 30 persons dead, according to what this magazine gathered.
Just like the previous attack, the suspected terrorists had ample of time to carry out their destructions. It was learnt that the suspected Boko Haram member virtually brought the community to zero, forcing residents of the village to abandon their homes, while only about four houses were reportedly spared in the invasion.
It was said that no security operatives were around to stop the destructions by the gunmen.
The north eastern part of Nigeria, especially Borno, has practically been under the control of the Boko Haram sect, which has confidently carried out several deadly attacks in the region. The Islamic group is still in custody of over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State on April 15, 2014.
