Operators of baby factories in Imo State are in for tough times ahead as the State House of Assembly has moved to end the act in the state. Recently, Imo State has become a comfort zone for those in the unscrupulous business, which has put the Governor Rochas Okorocha-led state in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
In a move to restore its integrity, lawmakers in the State Assembly have introduced a bill to end the menace.
The bill, known as a bill for a law to prohibit baby racketeering through baby factory operations and every other arrangement by which babies are illegally transacted on, and other matters, is sponsored by the Majority Leader of the House, Mrs Adaku Ihuoma and 11 others legislators.
Aproko247 also learnt that the bill has passed the first reading on the floor and that there are frantic efforts to quickly pass it into law.
