Dickson Didn't Spend A Dime On AMAA–Media Rep Replies APC

Following an allegation made by the Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, that the state governor, Seriake Dickson sponsored the recently-concluded African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, the media representative of the major movie awards event in Africa, Tope Ajayi, has rose in defence of his reputable client.

Ajayi slammed the party for the statement, which he described as “crap and tissues of lies.” He stated further that the governor did not sponsor the glamorous ceremony as alleged by the APC in Bayelsa, which claimed Dickson spent a whopping sum of N2 billion to host the 2014 AMAA.

“Crap and tissue of lies. How is that possible? Bayelsa did not spend a dime on AMAA and anybody can take that to the bank,” Ajayi said in a BlackBerry message on Sunday.

He added that, “AMAA this year and last year was 100 percent funded in cash and kind by private sector sponsors. Glo, Sterling Bank and MRS were the biggest sponsors this year.”

He advised that APC to “look for a better plank to launch an attack on Gov Dickson.”

“Using AMAA as a plank to launch a diatribe is too cheap and brainless,” Ajayi pointed out.
