Despite the fact that the Chief of Staff to Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, Deaconesss Ifeoma Nwobodo is yet to officially declare her interest for the Enugu East Senatorial seat, Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government, Afam Okereke, some days ago, endorsed her as the best candidate for the seat. The Nollywood director, who was formally a media aide to Chime, before becoming a council boss, said that the woman will make a good representation if she is elected for the seat.
Ifeoma is said to be the favoured senatorial aspirant from the zone, and we were told that she has been making consultations on the election.
Others that are said to be interested in the race are the former governor of the state, Chimaroke Nnamani, the incumbent senator representing the zone, Senator Gilbert Nnaji and one time minister of information, Frank Nweke Jr.
