Nigerian movie star, Toyin Aimakhu, has expressed her desire to emulate the likes of senior colleagues; Joke Silva and Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde.
Toyin, in an interview with Encomium, stated that she wishes to live exemplary lives the above movie legends have lived.
Omotola and Joke Silva have both enjoyed stable marriages; a development that is not too common in the Nigerian movie industry called Nollywood and sometimes nicknamed a ‘scandalous industry’. There have been several cases of husband snatchings and marriage break-ups in Nollywood, which have become a source of mockery to the industry.
Toyin disclosed that she sees Omotola and Joke Silva as her role model and expressed her desire to model her life after them.
The actress added that she regrets exposing her body at the early stage of her acting career, noting that she later realised that Africans do not like people who show much flesh, even though such is allowed in foreign cultures.
She revealed that her husband has been very instrumental to this understanding and wishes to remain a good role model to her fans.
