The Federal Aviation Authorities of Nigeria, FAAN, on Wednesday, prevented the Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, from flying to Abuja with his private chartered jet.
The state governor was supposed to have used the small aircraft to be at the inauguration ceremony of members of the new executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who were elected last week in Abuja at the party’s National Convection, but he was not allowed.
Aproko247 learnt that when Nyako got to the Yola International Airport, he was not cleared to use the plane by the airport officials, and was subsequently forced to go to Gombe State by road, before taking another flight to Abuja to attend the function.
A source informed this magazine that no cogent reason was given for the action by the FAAN officials; however, some are insinuating that the governor was stopped from using the plane because he is not in the good books of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Recall that some days ago, the private jet of Governor Rotimi Amaechi was grounded in Kano, where he had gone to pay homage to the new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
